Admiral Rodman said that he had come to defend the. good name of the navy, which viewed Admiral Sims's attack as deserving of the deepest censure; Admiral Sjhns, he said, occupied' a subordinate position in London, as a liaison' officer, md possibly arrogated to- his office more importance than actually 'was the case.
