MEETING OF ASSOCIATION.

The' congestion of ttraffit? on the railway .was discussed, and it was resolved to request- 'the Railway I>epartment to increase the number of trucks, tarpaulins, and ropes sufficiently to provide foir the cartage of eJiaff, as fai'mers at present conl<Lnofc continue cutting because trock* could not be obtained.

■ A reply to the Association's $e~> quest that a, small section near t&o Needles bridge) b© added1 to , tlis* Domain Reserve was received ffoiflt' the Lands Office, stating: that the sec*tion in question was vftsied in the* Awatere County Council- It was resolved to endeavor to aau-aaige an exchange of sections with the Council to further the object in view. The meeting discussed the* question of erecting a memorial to fallen soldiors wlio had enlisted) from the* district, and it was unanimously agreed ito erect .a memorial in tihe disttrict. After a full discussion of several proposals, a committee wa» aot up to obtain plans and estimate* of the different memorials suggested, and to, decide what form the* memorial should take-. A paper by Mr John Cunningham was neld over until noxt monthly meeting.
