Monday. Havcloek played their first interflub match, under the auspices of the MarlboroTi^h Lawn Tennis Association, at the local courts on Saturday, when IJu-paura' were defeated by 1M points. . Ah the final result indicates, the match on the whole was evenly contested, and a high standard of play was reached- in some of the games, lhe visitors were conceding 70 points to tJie Havelock team, so that the margin of victory avjis actually 83 points. Mr J. J..Corry, who .addressed the electors, at the Town Hall on Thursday, made a very favorable impression. His humanitarian policy, and as a champion for better treatment to returned soldiers in regard to land, will no doubt win him many supporters in this'district.'
