The Federal election campaign is proceeding quietly. There is considerable speculation over the effect of j-ossible complications in the new preferential voting system, which, it is anticipated, will result in some surprises. Mr Hughes is kept very busy countering Mr Ryan's active campaign work. The latter is making sweeping attacks upon the Government.
