BOAT AND SIX MEN PICKED UP.
TPbesis Association.] WELLINGTON, Nov. 25. The Blackball Coal Company received the following radio message from5 the steamer Ngakuta, timed 6.50 a.m.: "Off Cape Campbell picked up boat and six men, proceeding to Wellington. "It is presumably the missing launch party.
The volume.of business being transacted by the..Blenheim Repatriation Committee shows^a steady increase. At last nights-meeting various business propositions by discharged soldiers were dealt with, and fourteen applications for loans up to £50 for the purchase of furniture were approved. The repatriation officer reported that in the majority of cases repayments of loans were being made un to time, and in no case was it <ikely that legal proceedings would have to be taken for the recovery of amounts due. This month the total repayments on loans amounted to £306, whilst the October' total was £297. He stated that willing labor could easily be absorbed at the present time, and there was really no xmemployment as far as the Department's books were concerned. The difficulty was to secure men for the many situations offering. ''".
