(Communicated;. Mr Corry addi-essed a meeting <pf fckctors at the Havelock Town Hall last eveniag. There were between 70 and. 80 people present, including a fair sprinkling of ladies. Mr W. H. Smith.- occupied the chair. Mr Corry, in a forceful speech, advocated that the hospitals shoxikl be made more accessible to ifee I'cople; that the old-age pension should be increased, and its propertylimit raised, and that the ordinary widow's pension should be brought into line with the epidemic rate of 10s 6d per week for each child. The candidate also dealt at length with the maternity bonus question. He was in favoE of granting a bonus 'Of £10 to every mother. It w rould cost the country abiut £280,000 yearly..
