AUSTRALIAN WAR GRATUITY.

(Received Nov. 19/0.5 a.m.) MELBOURNE, Nov. 18. f The latest details available of the ' war gratuity scheme are that the \Treasury will cash the bonds in all oases of hardship or special emergency. The Repatriation Department will accept the bonds for the purchase of land, homes, or businesses. The banks will accept the bonds as collateral security for the purchase of land or houses from private owners. It is proposed to cash £10,000,000 nounds worth of bonds In May, 1921, the remainder to be cleared immediately* it is possible to raise the money in the local or foreign market.
