[Pbesr Association.] ' (Received Nov. 18, 9.50 p.m.) SYDNEY, Nov. IS. Joseph Schmidt, the cave dweller ■ who was arrested and charged with . counterfeiting notes, pretended insan- . ity and dumbness and attempted to commit suicide.
The doctors expressed the opinion that the accused was a malingerer.
The jury found that he was not insune, and returned a- verdict that he was guilty of the charge of possessing materials for making bank-notes. Schmidt was sentenced to two years' imprisonment.
