WAIRAU SEAT.

Mr E. H. Penny visited Marshlands last evening and addressed a well-attended and appreciative meeting. Mr J. C. Chaytor presided, and on the motion of Mr Somerville the speaker was accorded a hearty vote of thanks.

Mr Penny wall speak at Springlandsi this evening in the schoolroom, and on Friday evening in the Koro-rr-iko schoolroom.

Mr C'orry will speak at Havelock to-morrow evening, Springlands on Friday, Renwick on Saturday, and Havelock Suburban on Monday.

Mr R. McCallum, the Liberal candidate, reports having addressed enthusiastic meetings during the week at. Kohatu, Oronico, Stanley Brook, and Thorpe. He has completed his tour of the Nelson portion of the electorate, and will address a meeting at Carluke this evening. Mr McCallum will speak at Deep Creek to-morrow evening, Mariboroughtown on Friday, and Okaramio on Saturday.

Mr Bernard J. Cooke, the Labor candidate, left to-day for the Nelson end of the Wairau electorate. He will retur/i to Ble.nheim next Wednesday.

A committee meeting of the Liberal party will be held to-morrow evening.

MR COOKE AT REDWOODTOWN

Mr Barn irdCooke spoke to a very appreciati/e audience in the school at Redwoodtown last night. Mr FraserTytler was in the chair. Mr Cooke spoke on the usual lines on the State Bank, Sate shipping, free education, etc. Mr, Fraser-Tytler proposed, and Mr Jenkins seconded, that a hearty vote of 1 hanks and confidence be accorded to Mr Cboke for his able and interesting address. This was carried unanimously. -
