_The second heat qf the race for the Girling medals was rowed on the .Opawa River last evening, when A Glenme and W. Gibson (scr.) defeat-* ed \V. Rees and W. Gallop (oOsec.) by a bare length, after a keenly contested race. Glennie and Gibson, with a splendid take-off, overhauled and passed the limit crew about 100 yards from the winning post. To-night the third heat will be decided between J. G. Findky and H. O. Findlay (12sec.) and) W. Pinkhan* and r>. Walker (40sgc),
