BULB SHOW
AT WESLEY HALL
Quits one of the, most interesting functions of th.o year is the bulb show held in connection with the Wet-ley Church.- This year's exhibition opened at Wesley Hall yesterday afternoon, a la,rge gathering of people being present. The bad weather recently experienced, of course, had some effect upon the quality of the blooms, but taking all things into consideration it. was a very fime show. The interest is becoming greater every season, and the entries this year constituted a record, and the hall presented a pretty appearance with its wealth of blooms, tiastefully set out on '-their tables. Mr J. J. Corry (the Mayor) moiuited the platform, and was j warmly greeted. Ho expressed the pleasure he felt at being present, as j on former occasions, to declare, in j las official capacity, the show open. Ho hoped that they would, have a very successful show. In addition to the show good business was done at the lolly, refreshment, :ind work stalls, and a bountiful afternoon, tea was supplied by the church ladies. • Following is the prize-list:— 5 Varieties, Trumpet Daffodil: Mrs Bell 1.
