"THE MIKADO."
On Tuesday, Wednesday, and" Thursday of next week the Blenheim. Amateur Operatic 'Society will present Gilbert and Sullivan'sextravaganza "The Mikado," under" the direction of Mr Tom Pollard. The chorus and principals have been very well grounded under the baton., of Mr C. A. Forrest, the rn.usi.caT director, and the actions, grouping, and general business of the choir and' principals bear full and completeevidence of Mr Pollard's guidance; This gentleman has been on the spotfor some time past, and he has been untiring in his efforts to make theopera go. One feature of the production will he the fact that thescenery has been locally painted, under the supervision of Mr Forrest, and what can be seen of it <in "dishabilly" gives .evidence of" artistic merit. Altogether a good, even performance of the opera can be looked for, and patrons can be* assured of a pleasant- entertainment.
