LIVELY ACTION AT ST QUENTIN.
ENERGETIC RESISTANCE

A French communique states: In St. Quentin a very lively action occurred during the night-time, tha enemy being thrown over to the cast bank of the canal, whore they resisted energetically. Between the Aisne and vho Vtvsle we gained fresh adva.ila.gos. West of Rheims we hold Pouillon- ami the ■southern outskirts of Villers Franquez. Th-J St. Thierry massif is in our hands. Wo also gained ground north of Neuvo Ailotte, and carried our lines to the southern outskirts of .Betheniy.
