POULTRY ASSOCIATION.

ANNUAL MEETING

The annual meeting of the Marlborough Poultry Association, held this week, was well attended, and much enthusiasm was displayed by old and lie* members. The retiring president, Mr A. Sowman, gave a l'esume of the year's operations, and the balance-sheet disclosed a satisfactory state of affairs considering the conditions duo to the war.

Mr J. H. Priddle was elected president for the ensuing year, and the hon. secretary, Mr F. Jacobsen, was re-elected. Ten new members were elected, and a strong woridng committee was set up for the current year and next show season. Letters of appreciation and hopes of their welfare were ordered to be sent, on behalf of the Association, to members serving at the front or at present in camp. Votes of thanks were passed to the donors of special prizes and patrons who contributed to the funds of the Association, and to the two bands for the assistance they had rendered. A resolution was passed thanking Picton fanciors for the support they gave to the last show of the Association.

The scheiie initiated last season of members visiting various fanciers' yards was discussed and voted a success. It was arranged to carry on the scheme during the coming year, and two invitations were extended for visits for the month of October.

Reference was made to tho poultry section at the forthcoming A. and P. Show, and those present undertook to support it as much as possible, and to canvass other members for their support.
