WEEKLY SALE
Griffiths Bros., Ltd., report on their weekly sale held on Saturday as fol-lows:—-There was a good attendance, rind a. miscellaneous catalogue was submitted. Milch cows under offer did not meet with the competition expected, the reserves again being over buyers' expectations. Pigs made a fair entry, and good.sorts brought good prices. Poultry was in fair 'demand, pullets especially being eagerly sought after. Vegetables and apples were m good request, the latter being short of supply. _-- S_? qV?% -Prices as follows:— Cattle: Heifers, due early, £6 10s. Pigs: Weaners 14s, 12s, to lis. .Poultry: Cockerels 4s, mixed hens 3s 10d,.3s ,oc, .3s 3d, 3s, to 2s 9d, small sorts 2s 3d to 2s 1d..;, ducks 4s 3d-^all at per pair. Prominent amongst other, flmes, i wheat brought *27s';- barley seconds Ifss (3d; rice pollard 16s (xfpotatoes I3s to-12s j. swedes 6V: bran bs bd per sack. A special line of onions realised-at the rate of £18 per ton Apples 5s 6d per case. Furniture was only in moderate request. ■ft n.be^ morning we held a sale on behalf ot the Blenheim Dairy Company, which was well attended, and bidding was fairly- keen throughout Principal prices were: Cultivator £19, Farrbairii scales £6, roller-top desk f'ftxi, second-hand separators £3 Is force pump £2, irons 30s, lamps 20_ each.
