-U « recruiting conference held at Dublin, it was decided that Lord "Wimborne sholud organise a department for recruiting in Ireland, with Jiims"lf as director, and a chief organiser, working in co-operation with the military authorities. \ letter from Lord Kitchener was read, in which the Minister for War paid a tribute to the bravery ancVgalfantry of the Irish soldiers. Lord Kitchener said that he Mt k confident that the Irishman would not leave thorn without reinforcements. It was intimated that Ireland/ had recruited 81,000 men.
