Details of the execution of Nurse Cavell state that the German firing party awaited the victim in a garden in Brussels. She was led in "blindfolded and faced the firing party. Her r-.trt'ttjith gave way and she fell to tho ground. An officer drew his pistol and blew out tier brains.
The Belgian community descriiv tho deed as tho bloodiest outrage of the whole war. Miss Cavell and her staff worked hard tending the German wounded at the Royal Palace after the occupation of Brussels.
