OMAKA ROAD BOARD.

I + - - The monthly meeting of the Omakat Road Board was held this morning. There were present: Messrs R. JVBell (chairman), S. Tapp, S. M. Neville,. It. McArtney, R. Hani. Accounts amounting of £92 were 1 passed for payment. ' It was resolved to draw the attention of the Pelorus Road Board to 1 the state of the road at the southern end of iihe Wairau bridge and convey to that Board the opinion that. it. should take charge of the road. j Mr A. Watson waited on the Boardand asked for an allowance of 9d per head all round on the dog taxation collected last year in place of Is andk 6d respectively tor the two classes or dogs. i Messrs Pattie Brothers were given. ; permission, subject to certain conditions, to erect a gate temporarily across. a new road in the Dillon's Point district, to enable them to feed' off their stubble. > ' . • A widow's rates' were remitted-. The meeting: was resolved "into «i> special one to deal with the question.' of making provision for the Board's, contribution to the cost of erecting, the new hospital.
