SEDDON STOCK SALE
Dalgety and Co., Ltd.., report as follows:—We held our usual stock sale in the Seddon yards yesterday, there being a medium yarding of fat sheep and fat cattle, but very few store sheep came forward. Fat ' sheep and fat cattle were in good demand, and satisfactory prices were realised. Store sheep 'were unsaleable. We quote:— Sheep: Fat wethers 265, fat ewes, 16s 3d to 16s 9d. ' ' ' " ' Cattle: Fat cows to £12 10s, fat heifers £7 10s to £11 10s, forward steers £6, 18-months steers £2 ss, yearlings 30s to 355.
Tlie N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. report holding their usual stock sale at Seddon yesterday, when they offered a fair yarding of fate Which sold readily. No store sheep were offered and there was no demand . for anything unfinished. _ A1 feature of the sale was a pen of prime wethers yarded by Mr R. Marfell which met with keen competition and brought 275. the record price at the Seddon yards for some months. They qxiote sales as under:— Fat wethers, 17s 2d to 275; light sorts, 15s 7d. Fat ewes, 15s Id to 17s Id, fat lambs, 15s to 16s 6d. , Weaner pigs, small, 9s. The Conmany's forthcoming sales are «t Blenheim next Wednesday and at Koromiko next Thursday.
