VERY LIVELY FIGHTING.

DESPERATE STRUGGLE FOR A

REDOUBT.

(Received Jan. 13, 9.20 a.m.) PARIS, Jan. 12. A communique-states:. There has been violent cannonading from the sea. to the Oise.

Very lively fighting lias occurred! round the trenches north of Soissons, which we captured on Friday. On Sunday several Gerihan attacks were repulsed. We, captured more trenches. There have been artillery 'duels from Soissons to Rheims and also at Souaih. ■' ' ' '' .'.-.. ,'.■■.

After a desperate, struggle at the Beausejour redoubt the enemy established & trench inside the fortifications,'of which we still hold a salient. struggle continues. We repulsed German attacks in the Consenoye and Le Bouchot woods, which, are on the Meuse heights. , We surprised and routed a German company pillaging at St. S&uveur, near Circey-sui'-Vesouze. Snowstorms continue in. the Vosges and in Alsace.'
