SENSATIONAL ARREST.

MELBOURNE, July 1.. A. sensational arrest ■..was made in connection with the Eveleigh robbery. A strong. detachment of detectives surrounded a cottage in Albert Park? a "classy"....residential suburb. -A couple were ■'.farcing a window, when a man named Ernest Ryan: appeared arraed with a revolver. He -threatened to fire, but the window .gave ■ way arift the • detectives j knocked the revolver aside and grabbed Ryan. Other detectives forced the back tloor and surprised two women and a man. It >is alleged that one of- the women attempted to extract a revolver from her pockeffc. The police secured the other woman, who tried to get a jug containing a revolver. All were taken to the police station. A big crowd watched 'the coup. The police had difficulty, in forcing Aheir way through with the prisoners. Ryan was subsequently charged as principal in "the "Eveleigh hold-up. The police believe thait he is identical with the man who eluded -the police' attempt 'to capture 'him at Strathfield on the 16th. They.had "been on the lodk-out for "him for; bo me time.
