[SROM OUR CORRESPONDENT.] Monday. PROMOTION SOCIETY. The annual meeting of the Picton and- Sounds Promotion Society was held, on Friday evening under the presidency of Dr Redman,., and was well attended- The chief business was tlhe election of officers for the ensuing year, which resulted as follows:—Patrons, Messrs R. McOallum, M.P.. A. P. Seymour, John Duncan, aaid H. C. Seymour; presi- ; dent, Mr G. J. Riddell; vice-presi-dents, Mrs Riddell; Mrs Lncena, Miss E. Dart, Messrs Maitland, Stocker,. J. L. Jones, and Dr lledmaai; secretary, Mr J. L. Jones; treasurer, Mr G. Maitland. The meeting was unanimous in the conviction that the time was ripe for more energetic steps to be taken to put the Society's objects into forces and that strenuous efforts be made to make the attractions of picturesque Picton widely known as a health and tourist resort; and with that object in view a deputation from the Society will later on wait on thei Borough Council to seek their cooperation and financial aid. THE MAYORALTY. Keen iiitea-est is taken in t"he forthcoming election of Mayor.
