At the last all day parade the Kaituna Troop, N.Z.M.R., completed the competition for the above cup which proved a very exciting event' as it is competed for under active service conditions. Following are the conditions: — First part: Men mounted in sections, gallop 600 yards, dismount for .action, double 50 yards, judge distance and fire five rounds at tan-gets; hits on bead and shoulders to count four, anywhere else on target three points; tan-gets 14 by 12 inches. Led horses to. be brought back to starting point,' time to be taken from start to last man through gate at finishing point. Second part: Scores in the four classification practices of musketry. In the first part ( a. possible of 70 points can be obtained, 50 for the best time and 20 for kits. For eacih three seconds behind the fastest time one point is deducted. Ttooper p.
