[Press Association.] (Received April 17, 0.40 am ) „ ™, .MELBOURNE, April 16. ■^ *Fisher, during the debate on the Address-in-Reply, moved an amendment 'censuring the Government for tailing to safeguard the interests of the people-of the Commonwealth. •
Mr Fisher, in moving the censure motion, accused members of the Government of slandering the former .Labor Government and the people by stating that the- rolls should be cteajiseu before the election. Referring, to the trans-Australian railway he .declared that the Government had let one without calling tenders. He blamed the Government for reverting to the contract instead of the day labor system, and for abolishing preference to unionists. Mr Cook ridiculed the feebleness of the cJiairges, but he "agreed to take the amendment, as a serious motion or censure. • \ " . • '
