ANNAUL MEETING OF THE BI3SNHEIM CLUB.

The annual general meeting of the Blenheim Amateur Swimming Cluo was held last evening, Mr J.v ESmetson presiding 'over a'large attendance. The report, and balance-sneet as read were adopted." Twelve new members were elected. The election of officers resulted as follows:—Patron, Mr R. McCallum, M.P,j president, Mr IX A. Sturrockj, vice-presidents, Messrs J. J. Corry, G. M. Spence J. P. The concluding portion of rule 8 was amended to read! as follows: "No member shall foe entitled to the privileges of membership until his subscription lias been paid; and the name of any member whose .subscription has not 'been paid by the end of the season shall be struck off or retained on the.roll at the discretion of the committee. Entrance fees for races -must foe paid before the race, and' shall be due whether the entrant competes or not."

It was mentioned as being highly desirable that steps should be taken to ensure the utmost cleanliness of people swimming at the baths, and the committee was directed to take prompt action in the matter, and to urge upon the- Council the necessity of baring a shower bath installed immediately. The appointment of an assistantsecretary was left in the hands .of the secretary. It was in the report that jMr F. C. Ferry had -generously donated a cup for water polo, to be i competed for on district scheme lines. —The donor was thanked.-. for his trophy, which it was decided to call the Ferry Cu]3. The promotion of competitions was left in the hands of the committee. The committee was deputed to make fiiecessary arrangements for the opening of the season oh October 15th*. After votes of thanks had been accorded to the retiring officers, the chairman, and donors of trophies, the adjourned. I
