An Auckland Press Association telegram states that Austin Vincent Carroll, aged 30 years, who was remanded on a charge of indecent assault, on a little girl, committed suicide in his cell at Mt. Eden Gaol on Wednesday night. He was found dead at seven o'clock yesterday morning. Apparently he had used a towel. He fastened one end round his neck and the other round the bars pf the window.
