LARGE NUMBER OF VISITORS
From tallies taken by the authorities of the vessel, nearly half arifillion people have inspected H.M.S. Zealand since she left England. In South Africa, the number of visitors was 114,230, in Australia 9827, and in New Zealand 367,138.
The total for each place visited in New Zealand was :— Lyttelton 132,365 Wellington 99,322 Auckland 94,616 Napier 16,750 Picton 7,578 ■ Nelson " 7,494 Otago Heads 3,306 Gisborne 3,210 Akaroa 2,127 Timaru 330 Bluff and Milford Sound 40
At Lyttelton 23,904 visited the warship one day, and in Auckland 18,500 went on board in a little over two
hours
