MINISTER FOR RAILWAYS.
VISIT TO MARLBOROUGH
The Hon. W. H. Berries, Minister for Railways, purposes to visit Marlborough on Wednesday next, with the* ■particular object of inspecting the Picton-Ward section.
In a telegram to Mr R. McCallum, M.P., the Minister says that he will spend Wednesday night at Blenheim, and will travel to Ward by special train on Thursday morning, returning to Wellington by Thursday night's steamer. Any deputations formed to wait on him will have the opportunity of doing so at his hotel on Wednesday evening, and he will be prepared! to stop for a few minutes at stations along the line on Thursday to receive deputations. , Those who desire to interview theMinister on any public matter may achieve their object by communicating with Mr McOallum. In a later telegram the Hon. Mr Herries, replying to suggestions, saysthat he would be prepared to take, the Picton deputation on Thursday afternoon. He was arranging for Ins special train to stop at Seddon, Hauwai, and Ward. He would be )r.casett to take the Blenheim deputations oft Wednesday evening in the Literary Institute, as suggested. It is understood that deputations reprcßcnthip: fhii Land and Railway League and the Chamber _ of Commerce will wait on the Minister at Blenheim.
