PUBLIC WORKS ESTIMATES.
CHARGE OF MALADMINISTRATION.
(Received Nov. 23, 9 a;m.) SYDNEY, Nov. 23
In the-Assembly, during discussion on the Public Works Estimates, the Griffith administration was severely criticised.
Mr, Henley claimed : that chaos reigned from top to bottom of the Department, and he deliberately charged Mr Griffith with maladministration. He said the very dogs had been- barking maladministration for the last . twelve, months. If the Minister refused to accept the challenge to make the Commission of Inquiry wide enough to cover these charges he was not only the biggest maladministrator, but the • biggest "bounder" in the State.
Another Member declared that the "fat man" in future would be associated with the Labor party. Mr Griffith, in a heated defence, characterised the story alleging that he had invested £40,000 in^England, where he was going to live when he retired from politics, as the blackest of lies. He was a poorer man that day than when he took office.
Mr Levien retorted: "You are a bigger fool than T took you for then."
