MARLBOROUGH RIFLE UNION.
A meeting of the Union was held in Griffiths and Son's rooms on Saturday night, when the final drawings for ■ Shield and Cup took place. On November 9th the 12th Regiment and Linkwater Rifle Club will fire the final of the second round at i Picton.
On November 16th Hie final for the ' Senior Shield will .be fired on the . Vernon range, starting at 11.30 a.m.. \ so as to enable the shooting to be, completed in a good light. Major j Canavan and Captain Watson have ■ been apoointed as range and trench officers for that day. The president ' of the Union (Mr C. Hadfield) is arranging for four markers for that ; Hay. I On November 9th the Mounted Rifles and Tua Marina Juniors will fire the final of the second round on ; the Vernon range, and the final for ' the juniors will take place on the Vernon range on Nov. 30th at 1 p.m. The ranges are' 600 and 800 yards, 10 , shots at each range. Messrs C. ! Hadfield and R. Cresswell were ap-j pointed range and trench officers. j A hearty vote of thanks to Messrs Griffiths and Son for the use of their . rooms terminated the meeting.
