DUNEDIN RABBITSKIN SALE.

Dalgety and Co./ Ltd., have received the following advices from their Dunedin branch:—Owing to Monday the 28th being a public holiday no sale was held on that date. At out last sale, held on Monday, 21st October, we offered another very large and representative collection of skins. There was a full attendance of buyers, competition was very keen from the outset, and prices realised were the highest ever obtained at auction in the Dominion. Included in our catalogue was a line of 36 bales from Central Otago station, which attracted special attention. Competition for these was extra keen, and some extreme ■ prices were obtained, super does selling up to 69£ d per lb, average £115 per bale, which jprice was paid for five bales; and 57|d per lb was obtained for 10 bales of prime does. Super bucks from the same line sold up to 32$ d per lb, one lot of five bales fetching this figure. Other lines of doe skins from Central Otago realised from 46Jd per lb to 6?ld per lb. We also offered a very nice line of silver greys from Marlborough.^ These brought up to 50id per lb, which is also a record price for this class. A splendid demand exists for all classes of skins.

The following is the range of prices realised: Selected winter does to 69£ d per lb, prime ' winter does to 60d, second winter does to 40£ d, outgoing winter does to 30d, prime winter bucks to 32£ d, autumns to 18d, springs to 16£ d, prime racks to 13d, light racks to llAd, summers to ll£d, runners and suckers to Bd, prime silver greys to sQid, prime winter blacks to 45|d, second winter blacks to 32d, „ prime winter fawns to 28^d. ■
