The weather to-day was showery, and the resumption of play was delayed till after lunch. The wicket was soft, and the atendance 500. Dennett proved almost unplayable, finishing with the fine average of 5 for 47. On 'resuming Kelleway was dismissed with the third ball without addition to the overnight score, and Mayne went two runs later. Minnett and Bardsley stopped! the rot for a time. The latter was 35 minutes in making ten. Gregory was taken at cover-point, and in the next over Minnett was caught at point at the second attempt. His innings was very sound. Continued rain fell after tea. Smith played a good innings. He was taken jaf long-on in the second attempt. A downpour occurred at 5 o clock, and the match was abandoned.
