A week of very hot weather, tending to reduce the consumption of meat generally but favorable for lambs. Home Grown: Beef 6J to 9d, mutton 7d to 9d, tegs 7Jd to 9d, ewes 5d to s£d, lamb 7^d to 9Jd. (Dutch 6£d to BJd.) Chilled Beef: Fores 3£d to 31d, hinds 4-J-d to o^d. Frozen Beef: Plate fores 3|d to 3fd, liinds 4d to 4|d, Australian fores 3|d to 3-|d, hinds 4d to 4^d, New Zealand fores 3-£ dto 3|d, liinds 4£d to 4id.

Frozen Mutton: All classes are |d higher except Canterbury, for which the demand" is limited. Canterbury 48 to 56 4id, 56 to 64 4d. Best New Zealand 06 to 64 3|d, ordinary 3fd, ewes 3|d. Australians 3fd to 3|d, small ewes 3|d. Plates 50 to 70 3fd.

Frozen Lamb: Deliveries are not yet regular, although . the discharge of steamers in dock is being accelerated. Prices for most classes are lower. Canterbury under- 36 6£d, 36 to 42 s|d, 42 to 50 sfd, Southlands and best North Islands Id lower, ordinary 6d to 6|d, u-36, sfd to sfd, 36 to 42.
