"CATASTROPHE AT HAND."
PRESS COMMENTS ON THE BALKAN CRISIS.
WHAT WILL AUSTRIA DO?
(Received Aug. 17, 0.55 p.m.) LONDON, Aug. 16. The, Westminster Gazette says that there are indications that the long--predicted catastrophe is near. The downfall of the Committee's regime, the Bulgarian-Servian agreement, to which Montenegro is privy, the Albanian movement, and the war fever in Bulgaria owing to the Koehana massacre are facts of /the highest importance. "All Europe is asking whether Austria is likely to back Bulgaria to the extent of permitting the issue_ of an ultimatum to Turkey demanding Macedonia's autonomy. Austria is apparently waiting to see how Russia .and Germany will act."
