The wicket was slow the ball turning considerably. Bardsley and Gregory. Jennings was; stylish, and batted for 40 minutes.; Bardsley was brilliant all round the wicket, forcing a couple of sixers to leg off Dennett. He reached his 50 in 90 minutes. Bardsley continued steadily, and was the last batsman Smith and Carkeek reached double figures, the remainder making poor stands. Bardsley made 102 m 150 minutes, and was accorded an ovation. His play was faultless throughput, and he hit 3 sixes and 6 fours. ' The innings lasted 240 minutes. Dipper and Sewell faced Hazlitt and Minnett. The wicket was drying. The opening batsmen made a moderate stand. The best stand of the innings Avas made by Barnett and Dennett for the tenth wicket, the partnership adding 67 runs. Langdon showed powerful driving.
