GISBORNE, May 16. His Majesty's Theatre was packed last night when the public, presentation was made to Sir James Carroll of an illuminated address, a handsome canteen, a heavy gold cigar case, and a solid silver salver for Lady Carroll. Amongst those present were the Mayor, the Prime Minister, the Hon. Mr Mac Donald, and Mr Lawry and Mr Dillon. ex-M.P's.

In acknowledging tlie presentation Sir. James Carroll said that he had always fought under the Liberal flag, nnd any party foiining under' that banner must have his support.
