WOOL AND SKIN SALES

,VThe monihly Wool, skin, hides, and tallow sales of the local Wooibrokers' Association were held at noon to-day, when half-bred skins brought up to 7|d per lb; fine crossbreds up to 7d; merino 7d; calf hides 7£d; ox s|d. Orutchings realised up to 6d per lb, and rough fat £1 per cwt. For rendered fat in tins as much as 26s per cwt. was given.

Messrs Levin and Co., Ltd., report: We held our monthly wool and skin sale to-day, when we offered a large catalogue of wool, skin and tallow. There was a good attendance of both Wellington and local buyers, and bidding was very spirited throughout the sale.

Skins were firm at late rates. We quobe:— Threequarter-bred 6£d to 7£d, halfbred 7d to 7£d, crossbred 6Jd to 6£d,, half-wools 6* to 6|d, quarter-wools Gsd to 6d, dead skins s^d to 6d, merino s^d to 6id. \ Wool: Crutchings s^d to 6d, pieces 4|d to sd, bag wool 5d to 5Jd. i Rough fat 16s 3d to 21s 9d. Rendered fat 20s 9d to 245. Rabbit skins 9fd per lb.

I Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., reI port as follows: We offered a good catalogue of 1700 skins, 40 hides, 15 bales and several bags wool to the largest attendance of buyers that have yet visited our sales. The drop in tlio London market of id to £d on skins did not affect our sale to-day, prices being firm at out last sale rates. Our wool catalogue, which consisted mostly of crutchingsi sold well, ewe and hogget crutchingsi bringing up to 6d. Prices ruled as follows: Sheep skins: Crossbred J-wools 4fd, crossbred 4-woals ojd to 6£d, crossbred 1-wools 6id to 7d. halfbred irwools sd, 'halfbred J-wools 6fd, halfbred £-wools 7£d, crossbred full-wool 6J3 to 62d, fine crossbred 7d, first pelts 3£d, double fleece 5Jd, lambs 6d to 6|d, merino J-wools 4£d to sd, merino^ $- woote 6d, merino 1-wools 7d, merino full-wools 7d, rams skins 6£d, damp skins 4s Bd, green skins 5s 2d to 5a sd. Hides: Ox 6 2-Bd, cow 5 6-8 dto 5 7-Bd, yearling s£d, calf 7£d. Wool: Crutchings 5d to 6d, fleece 4£d, black 6*d, dead 6|d, mixed sd. Horsehair brought Is 2d, and rough fat 19s 3d. Our next sale will be held on 31st October.
