When, the officials at the Buchan -i Victoria) post office were sorting the mails on a recent Saturday, some lx>ttles containing a white powder were found broken in the bag, the contents being distributed through the mail matter. The officials, unconscious of the real nature of tho mixture, continued sorting, but com■nlained of the effects of the powder, which lifld blown mto their faces'. One of the officials complained of bo-' in^'iH* JUIC* on examination the postirnstor found that the mixture was strychnine. An emetic and other -emetlies were at once given to the sufferer, and h* "» now out of danger.
