A steamer has been despatched to pick up the Stanisforth Smith search parties, which are still out and unaware of the party's return. After the disaster Mr Smith was bootless, and suffered terribly from ulcerated feet until lie constructed boots from fibre:
Speaking at' a, luncheon, Mr Smith declared the equipment of the expedition ample, but for the mishaps in the river. If the coal discoveries were found reachable it would be via the Strickland River.
