SYDNEY, March 17. Thomas Walsh, an ex-sergeant of the 87th Regiment, died at Newcastle, aged 97 years. He served under General Pollock, avenging the massacre of Pollock's Division at Khyber Pass, was through the Sikh and Crimean Wars and the Indian Mutiny, and in the 70th Regiment which took part in the Maori War.
