THURSDAY NIGHT'S CONCERT

It seems hardly necessary to remind the public that on Thursday at the Town Hall, Mademoiselle Antonia Dolores, one of the world's most celebrated singers, will make her nrst appearance in Blenheim. The booking reflects the keen interest taken in the event by local people, and those who desire good seats should at once visit the Dresden Piano Company and reserve before it is tijo late. Mademoiselle's New Zealand tour throughout Has "been a triumphant march. From Invercargill to Christchurch the great singer .has delighted thousands. In both Dunedin and the Cathedral City the season was extended. Greymouth received the fair vocalist with open arms, and an immense crowd assembled to see her arrive, the Liedertafel serenaded her, and on the occasion of the first concert the building was so crowded that another recital was given on Friday last with equal success. Hokitika and Reefton audiences were equally delighted, and the West Coast tour proper concluded at Westport before one of the biggest houses of the season, and it was the same at Nelson: Everyone interested in music should attend. At the same time Mademoiselle's concerts appeal also even to the unmusical, and in every town hundreds attend __ these recitals who never think of going to the ordinary musical entertainment. Mr Selywn Shrimplin, accimpanist and solo pianist, who assists, has created a" favorable impression, and is a decided favorite. The 4s seats placed on sale to-day at the Dresden are selling rapidly.
