[from our correspondent.] '■■'-, Monday, A YOUNG OFFENDER.
'■'A young man (a local resident) 19 years of age. came before Messrs G. Maitland and J. Blizzard, J.Ps., at the courthouse on Monday, charged with disorderly conduct. The accused was .convicted and fined 10s and 7s costs and .witness's expenses 3s. A prohibition order was also granted against him. , . POULTRY ASSOCIATION. A meeting of the Picton Poultry Association was held on Monday evening. The question of obtaining a suitable building in which to hold the show in June was discussed. There is great uncertainty as to when the new hall that is to supersede Fay's Hall will be built by that time. It was decided that the committee wait on the hall proprietors and ascertain what the state of affairs will be in Jane. An art union will be run in connection with the show, if permission is obtained < from the Minister for Internal Affairs. After some general discussion the meeting i was adjourned till next Monday. ' ■
