The Times, discussing the United States-Canada agreement, says Sir Wilfrid Laurier's speech possessed m a high degree that infernal unitybespeaking conviction which was accordingly potent to produce conviction in others, and adds that Sir Wilfrid Laurier. in declaring his Imperial aims with emphasis, . left nor thing, to be desired, and carefully showed that the obstacle to preference lay with Great Britain and not with Canada, whose policy was unchanged.
