HOSPITAL SUBSIDIES.
AN AMUSEMENT TAX FAVORED
[PRESS ASSOCIATION.] (Received March 9, 9.40 p.m.) SYDNEY, March 9. Replying to a deputation asking for a hospital subsidy, Mr Flowers, Acting Chief Secretary, said that hospitals should not have to depend upon bequests. He strongly favored an amusement tax to provide for their upkeep.
