[press association.] CHRISTCHURCH, March 10. Henry Mortimer Leatham, aged 4fo years, died at the hospital yesterday under an anaesthetic, prior to undergoing an operation for hernia. i l6l' ,was bein S used, when he suddenly collapsed and died. jAt m in< luest the evideiice showed that deceased was a strong muscular man with all the organs heaithy. JJr Talbot, who made the post mortem, said that death avus due to paralysis of the heart, caused by the patient s violent struggles under the anaesthetic, which in this case was a' mixture of chloroform and etiier in equal parts. Death was due to an accident' which could not be foreseen A verdict was given accoi-ding to tne medical testimony.
