FAMILIES ON THE VERGE OF STARVATION.

The Daily Express states that hundreds of the families of the 12,000 miners on strike at Mid-Rhondda are on the verge of starvation. The women and children often faint on the streets from hunger. The colliers are receiving ten shillings weekly from the Miners' Federation, whose funds are rapidly dwindling. The tradesmen in. the' district are on, the verge of ruin, and refuse the strikers any further credit. v . LONDON, March 8. Owing to the colliery troubles in bouth Wales the Americans are exporting 350,000 tons of coal to Havre and Italy and returning vessels call at ©pain for iron ore. Some coal from the Westphalian mines has reached the Thames.
