WEDDING.

SMITH—TODD

A very pretty wedding took place this afternoon at Waitohi House, Picton, when Miss Annie Brownlae Todd youngest daughter of Mrs c< Todd, was married to Mr Leonard It. Smith, third son of Mr G. A. Smith, of Picton. The ceremony was conducted by the Rev. J. Dickson. The bride, who was given away by her eldest brother, Mr Thomas Todd, was attired in a beautiful dress of cream chiffon taffeta, trimmed with pearl and silver trimmings. A wreath < t orange-blossoms was worn, and a lovely bridal veil. A white shower bouquet completed a most becoming, toilette The two bridesmaids wero Miss Jeannie Todd, who wore a very pretty dress of cream crepoline, tninmed with cream guipure and black velvet, and Miss' Blanche Smith, wearing a handsome dress of cream crystalline, trimmed with cream insertion. Each carried a beautiful bouquet ut sweet peas and foliage. The brides, mother was attired in a black sus. voile dress, and the bride's sister, Miss Ada Todd, in a terra-cotta dress trimmed with gold passementerie trimmings. The duties of best man were carried out by Mr Gordon Smith. The bride's present to the bridegroom was. a gold sovereign case, and the bridegroom's present to ii.<> bride a beautiful set of fox- furs. Tin bridesmaids were also presented with gif*----—Miss J. Todd, a manicure set, ; -1 Miss Smith, a pretty brooch. A--targe number of friends and relations were present at the ceremony, which took place in the drawing-room. The wedding breakfast was afterwards held, when the happy couple received the hearty congratulations of their many friends. A nice array of wedding presents was displayed in the sittingroom,, amongst which was a set of carvers, which was a present to the bridegroom from the members of the Bowling Club, and a silver entree dish from the members of th© Fire Brigade. Later on the bridal pan* departed, amid showers of confetti and rice, by the Arahura for Wellington. The bride's travelling costume was of dark tweed, and she wore a very pretty vieux rose hst. The honeymoon will be spent in the North Island. Mr and Mrs L. R. Smith havebeen a very popular couple in Picton, and everyone .wishes them long lifeand happiness.
