Godlee, delivering the Hunterian lecture at the University of London, stated that rheumatoid arthritis and other forms of rheumatism were due to streptobaciPlus malae, directly traceable to bad teeth. Eighty per cent, of the cases of rheumatoid arthritis which, were investigated accompanied decayed teeth.
