A meeting of the combined sports clubs in Picton was held last evening, Mr C. Fredericks being in the chair. The principal business was to decide whether to leave the concrete pitch down on Nelson Square and turf it over, or bake it up. After considerable discussion it was decided, on the motion of Mr H. Williams, that the pitch be left as it is and covered with turf, the cost of-this work to be borne proportionately by the different clubs. A committee of twelve was formed to carry out.this work, viz.: Picton Cricket Club, Messrs Cragg, Williams and Tregurtha; Ferro Club. Messrs Brown,' O'Brien, and Davis; Hockey Club. Messrs Swan, Fredericks, and Cairns j Football Club, Messrs Easton, Gibb, and Godfrey. Tho- WaitohiDomain was the subject of much discussion, and Mr Fredericks explained the position of the Borough Council on this matter. It was the feeling of all in the room that work should be commenced on this reserve as sooil as possible, and it was decided that a deputation composed of one member from each club wait on the Borough Council and urge them to start at an early date^ the formation of playing grounds, etc., on this Domain. WAtTOHI FOOTBALL CLUB.

The annual meeting of the Waitohi Football Club was afterwards held. Mr Gibb was elected to the chair. The report, which was read by the secretary, showed that during last season 10 matches had been1 played, of which 7 had been won and 3 drawn. The total points scored were 137, and against 36. On the financial side the receipts amounted to £13 14s 6d, and the expenditure to £12 11s 3d, leaving a credit balance of £1 3s 3d. Nothing up Go the present had been done to settle the protest in the match against Central B, which leaves an uncertainty as to whether the club will obtain the championship cup. The following officers for the ensuing year were elected:—Patron,. Mr H. McCormiek; President, Mr W. Watson; Vice-Presidents, Messrs John Duncan, M.P., Dr Redman, J. Campbell Gv W. Nicol, J. Pricey..-H;, Madsen, and E. J. Cheesman; Captain/Mr W. Gibbs; Vice-Captain, Mr Eastonj Management Committee, Messrs D. Godfrey, Davis, and T. Watson; Selection Committee, Messrs F. Rouse, D. Godfrey, Ci Sheen, with the captain and vice-captain; Delegate .to Marlborough Rugby Union, Mr W. Chisholm; Auditor, Mr H. Madsen. The question of whether to play as seniors or juniors ,was discussed. Mr' Madsen pointed but. that everyone interested m football in Picton would like to see them play .senior, as no doubt the nVaterial was' in the Htib.'' After -further discussion it! was decided that the club enter a gfenior and a junior team.

Tin? first match was arranged to be played on tho IStli inst., Government, employees v. others. The secretary; notified that. Mr H. McCormick had promised a trophy for the ensuing season. Mr J. Campbell kindly agreed to act as coach to the team.
