The following " Marlbotfough marKst men figured in •"the prize-lists at Treritham on Saturday:— Auckland Match, 500 and 600 yards (winner. Rifleman W. S. Penny, Sandon, £5, 97): —Rifleman R. Cresswell (Tua Marina) £3, 92; Rifleman Henderson (Sounds) £1, 89; Riflemap Cuthbertsoii ■ (Tua Marina) £1, 88f^ Riflemian Masefield (Sounds) £1, 87: Sergt Melhuish (Kaikoura) £1, 86. Trooper W. G-ane (M.M.R.) won a tyro prize of £1 with 85, and Pyt. Logan (Blenheim) a tyro prize: of iOs with£4 Of Rifleman Cresswell!g .performance the New Zealand Times says.:—The shooting at 600 yards was, •perhaps, themost ..difficult of .the whole meeting, butt 'despite this a possible was recorded, the successful competitor being Rifleman R. Cressweil. of Tua Marina, who -had come back with'the mce.est score of 42. H Cbcesman (Tua Marina) was counted out:
'Snap-shooting Match, 300 yards, (won by Gunner G. Keenan,. Wellington, with 6 "bulls," £5, 35):—Lieut. H. Macintosh (Waitohi), 3 "bulls," £1 12s, 35; Rifleman C. Thompson (Sounds), 3 "bulls," £1 12s, 35, Rifleman Masefield (Sounds), 2. "bulls." £1, 35; Trooper Tripo (M.M.R.). 1 "bull," £1. 35. In the 500 yards range of the Nelson Match, Pvt. Logan-. (Blenheim) scored 48 out of 50, possibles being registered by Sergti-MajdrDrummond (Westport) and Rifleman TR,. J. King (Opaki). - ~ The decision of Cabinet td' s^nd a team to Bisley next yearhas caused a good deal of comment in camp (says the N.Z. Times),the opinion being expressed generally that it was evidently Sir Joseph Ward's intention to send a team for the next meeting, not next year. Colonel Colliils set all doubts at rest when asked to explain the matter. He said the team would-be sentiti 1912—not this year. No doubt the .'marksmen: will be iselected' on the form shown at tho next meting.
